OUR VALUES & VISION

We're a business with strong ethics and a clear direction. The values we hold as individuals are deeply ingrained in the way in which we run this business.

We are proud to operate on a small scale as a independent business and find joy in creating beautiful products that are made in a way that is less common in today's world.

Our products are at the core of what we do, and it's important to us that they truly represent what we care about.

Fair Trade

We work with multiple small businesses across India who are each specialists in various forms of traditional hand craft. Due to the nature of our products, the techniques used are very labour intensive, offering reliable employment to local communities. We know the people we work with, and have very long standing relationships with our suppliers. We routinely check audit information and visit the factories ourselves to ensure fair wages and good working conditions are provided.

HANDMADE

We are passionate about hand craft and endeavour to design and offer products that are made in a traditional way, using age old techniques. Not only do pieces made in such manner have more character than a machine made equivalent, they provide dignified employment, supporting entire communities and generational skills. In a world where processes are increasingly being automated and simplified, our vision is to continue to advocate for these techniques for years to come.

NATURAL MATERIALS

We don't believe in using synthetic fibres in our manufacturing because of the impact they have on the environment and our health. Whilst most of our products are vintage, or recycled, when we use virgin materials we opt for traditional, sustainable raw materials such as cotton, wood, jute or wool.

MADE WELL

We endeavour to make pieces that will last and be cherished for years to come. Our designs are created with the intention of being timeless pieces rather than following fast trends. We hope that our products are well loved, used and cared enough for that they will be repaired when necessary.

Being an small, independent business, we can do things differently. We're proud of the personal nature of our business, and the people it supports.

Packaging

Our products come in to us free from any packaging unless they are breakable. Within our warehouse, we shred used cardboard boxes to use when shipping out our parcels and we also re-use various other packaging materials that come our way. When you receive an order from us, expect it to arrive in either a paper bag or a second-hand cardboard box.

Customer Service

We are only a small team, with one person managing all customer service. With this approach, you can expect a personalised service should you require it. We hope that dealing with us is easy and stress free. We are always more than happy to assist with any questions or concerns you have and will always do what we can do ensure your experience with us is a good one.

Our base

Our warehouse and office is based on Daisy's mum, Jakki's, organic farm in North Devon. We have been powered by 100% renewable energy for the past 15 years and our heating system is ran from waste wood. Over the years, Jakki has planted over 30,000 trees on the farm, many of which have been funded through this business. We are passionate about organic farming and the nature that surrounds us, so naturally have always endeavored to run this business in a way that is as least impacting as possible.

Small Scale

We believe in small scale across every aspect of our supply chain. Our business is part of the local community here in Devon, but also very much part of a network of small businesses on the other side of the world, in India. Our handcrafted products are produced by businesses that are not striving to create the most, or be the biggest, they instead strive to create employment and make products at a slow pace, celebrating hand craft on a small and sustainable scale.
