The Curated Clash, Vol. 1
Apr 19, 2026
Here is the thing about an "Ian Snow home": It’s never about perfection; it’s about personality.
We believe that great spaces aren’t designed to match; they are curated to clash. Our products are built for maximalists or those who see a space as a canvas for colour, texture, and pattern. To prove it, we are launching a little series on the blog called: "Intentional Mismatches." We’ve taken rooms we’ve found on Pinterest that we love and curated them with Ian Snow pairings that we think echo and elevate that room's eclectic soul. Our first stop is The Blue Room. It’s the ultimate inspiration for anyone wanting to master the 'modern eclectic' look.
Iconic Pairing #1: Stealing the Look
This living room is a study in "curated chaos," where classical art meets velvet sofas and vintage ephemera meets unexpected shapes. We looked at this iconic blue-walled space and asked ourselves: If we were to style this room, which pieces would find their perfect home?
Here is our Ian Snow mood board, inspired by this intentional mismatch:

Why this Clash Works:
1. Echoing the Palette, Clashing the Texture - We pulled the central "anchor" from the space, the sofa. We’ve echoed that saturated forest green with our Green Cotton Throw and our Lemon & Sea Green Cushion.
2. Amplifying the Pattern Scale - This image is all about that gallery wall. Our pairing adds patterns that talk back to that art. We selected our new bold, intricate Hallow Floral Velvet Cushion to contrast against the small, linear portraits as well as adding one of our Botanical Framed Prints.
3. Shapes - The most eye catching object in this space is the iconic yellow shell cushion. Our pairing introduces a different kind of architectural shape: our Scalloped Mirror. It picks up the curved language of that shell and the round mirror on the wall, bringing that whimsical shape up to eye level.
4. Balancing with History - To ground all that vibrant pattern and colour, you need something that feels "found." We’ve paired the space with a distressed, utilitarian object like our Vintage Jali Side Table. It adds an industrious, lived-in edge that prevents the room from feeling too precious.
